FAQ's
Abbreviated Frequently Asked Questions
Because every mission is unique, we encourage you to ask us any questions you have in advance, but here are a few of the most frequent:
Q: What types of projects does AirMac support?
A: AirMac provides aerial mapping and documentation services for infrastructure, construction, and rural water utility environments.Typical projects include construction progress documentation, terrain and elevation modeling, treatment plant mapping, infrastructure inspections, and operational documentation for specialized environments.
Q: What is aerial mapping and how is it used?
A: Aerial mapping combines high-resolution imagery and photogrammetry to produce detailed orthomosaic maps and terrain models.
These maps allow engineers, project managers, and infrastructure operators to visualize site conditions, measure distances and elevations, and document changes over time.
Q: How is aerial documentation useful for construction projects?
A: Construction aerial documentation provides a consistent overhead perspective of a jobsite throughout the life of a project.Project teams use these visual records to monitor progress, coordinate trades, review site conditions, and maintain historical documentation of the project.
Q: What types of deliverables does AirMac provide?A: AirMac deliverables vary depending on the project but commonly include: *Orthomosaic maps *Terrain and elevation models *Aerial progress imagery *Geotagged imagery and video *GIS-compatible mapping layers *Cloud-hosted project portals
Q: What industries does AirMac work with most often?A: AirMac commonly supports: *Rural water utilities *Construction firms *Engineers and planners *Infrastructure operators *Land developers
These organizations rely on aerial documentation to better understand site conditions and track operational changes.
Q: How does AirMac support first responders and emergency response efforts in the community?
A: AirMac possesses a unique combination of aircraft assets, pilots and deep skillsets. We are dedicated members of the Texoma community and, as such, periodically support first responders and emergency management teams by providing aerial imagery and documentation to help improve situational awareness during training exercises, equipment testing, response planning and emergency response deployment.
In certain situations, an overhead perspective can help agencies better understand operational environments, observe equipment deployment, and document specialized response activities. AirMac also operates aerial thermal imaging equipment that can assist first responders during search efforts by helping identify heat signatures that may not be visible from the ground.
This community support work is typically provided on a case-by-case basis and reflects AirMac’s commitment to supporting the safety and preparedness of the Texoma community.
